Dr. Andrea Dardello is founder of Strategic Teaching and Reaching, LLC. Using cultural responsiveness, restorative practices, and intergroup dialogue as frameworks, Andrea provides tools and strategies that help community college educators, administrators, and community stakeholders effectively communicate with students as well as each other with the goal of fostering student retention and success.
In her 30-year career as a community college educator, Andrea has provided tools and strategies for over 3000 students, faculty, and administrators for navigating difficult conversations--including race-- and has trained faculty and administrators across the U.S in culturally responsive teaching pedagogy, implicit bias and microaggression training and led faculty in syllabus and assignment audits to create equitable grading practices.
Using data-driven analysis to identify and develop targeted interventions for under-served students, Andrea led faculty trained in Culturally Responsive Teaching to meet institutional benchmarks for Asian, Latinx, African American, and White students enrolled in face-to-face, hybrid, structured remote, and online courses.
As Acting Senior Diversity Officer at Frederick Community College, Andrea led cross-functional teams to produce outcomes for the institution’s DEI Strategic Plan.
Andrea holds a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park, a certificate in Dialogue for Change from Cornell University, is a certified professional coach (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching), and a certified trainer in restorative practices (International Institute of Restorative Practices).
Andrea is a retired community college educator and a proud mother of a teenage son. Dr. Dardello joined the MaxLife team in 2023.
